The peak season for catching trophy size bass here in Florida is upon us. And the lake is setting up just right for it to be a year of rich harvest for us trophy bass fisherman. With massive patches of offshore hydrilla, the lake level as high as it can be, and the water throughout the lake cleaner than ever, we’ve been consistently pulling in bass over 7 pounds no matter what the weather. December Lake Toho Fishing Report

The bass fishing on Toho remains solid as we move closer to the peak winter time spawn in January, February, and March. Fish continue to constantly chase shad and shiners around feeding up for the upcoming months where they will be at their biggest. They’re already getting fat, really fat, and not because they’re filling up with eggs but because they’re filling up with so much bait! They’re all beginning to weigh more and more. We continue to be averaging catching 20- 30 on our 4 hour trips, and on our longer trips some days well over 40 bass on […]

Triple up of lake toho bass

November Lake Toho fishing report

It’s finally time, the fall feeding bonanza has swung into full effect! And it’s far better than I would’ve expected. The last few cold fronts we’ve had have turned on a feeding frenzy! So much so that on our shiner trips we’ve had to recommend extra bait because we’ve been running out early. And for artificials, the topwater bite has been the best it has been all year. Since the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commission) has been leaving much greater amounts of hydrilla in the lake we’ve seen a fish population explosion over the last year. But no other time has […]

The Drive to Make a Living Fishing

It all started one day on a little aluminum john boat on the Upper Potomac river in Maryland. Where my dad took me fishing, it was my first ever time. Little me stood eagerly waiting with a nightcrawler. Not knowing what I was going to catch and that my life was about to be changed forever. After a little wait my line tugged, not knowing what it was I began to reel and hooked into the fish. It pulled so hard it began to take the rod out of my hands and my dad rushed over to help me. With […]

September Lake Toho fishing report

With fall beginning to approach the bass fishing is starting to change on Orlando’s Lake Toho. The days are starting to shorten and the bass are just now beginning to show signs of moving into a fall feeding pattern. Which basically means they’re starting to feed for longer in the morning instead of quitting once it starts to get hot around 10am, only to feed again in the late afternoon. We’re averaging around 20 bass a day on our guide trips with some days catching over 30. The average size has been good too, we’re catching a decent amount of […]

Awesome day bass fishing lake toho

July Lake Toho fishing report

It’s been one of the best years of fishing we’ve ever seen so far on Orlando’s Lake Toho. Never have I seen the lake as a whole fish so well. I mean there’s so many different areas you can catch fish in right now it’s crazy. Usually with our team of guides we have to fish around each other in certain areas to keep people on good fish, but with the lake being absolutely on fire like it is right now, we are all spread out through the lake fishing different spots and slaying them all the same! Lake Toho […]

Lake Toho Bass

April Lake Toho Fishing Report

Finally its April, one of my favorite months to fish Lake Toho. The bass are aggressively feeding up after spawning in the winter and the weathers consistent. Which makes the bite very consistent also. And that is what’s going on right now on all of the offshore grass patches on the lake. We’re consistently catching good fish! We’re averaging around 20-30 fish on a 4-5 hour trip. There’s so much offshore grass for these bass to get on right now, it’s awesome, and it pretty much all has fish on it. Our guides are scattered all over the lake fishing […]

12.3 pound lake Toho monster bass

Lake Toho Winter Forecast

Lake Toho’s bass fishing is absolutely insane right now. It’s the HOTTEST lake in Florida. With no shortage of hydrilla and other types of submerged grasses all throughout the lake you can literally hammer them from one end to the other. 40+ fish days are very common with 20+ fish days being a tough day. Even after cold fronts! And these aren’t little fish either. 3 pounds has been the average size! We’ve already caught a 12.3 pounder and 11.2 pounder so far this year, along with several 9+ pounders and plenty 7-8 pounders. If you follow us on our […]

The best it’s ever been? December Lake Toho Fishing Report

Now I’ve had some amazing days bass fishing lake Toho catching both big numbers and big bass. But never have I seen this lake produce both of these so consistently. I mean even after cold fronts (which usually slow down the fishing) the fishing remains unchanged and even has gotten better! 30 fish days with a 7 pounder have become the average with 40-70 fish days and multiple fish over 7 pounds becoming very common! There’s only one word for it, stupid. It really is stupid how good the fishing is right now on Lake Toho. And it’s a testament […]

Orlando's Lake Toho mega bag

October Lake Toho fishing report

The fall bite has started and the bass are biting everywhere! The recent cold fronts we’ve had have really kicked the fish into overdrive and they’ve started gorging themselves for the winter. Lake Toho is loaded with hydrilla and just about every patch of it holds good fish. So much so that I’m having trouble deciding where to start each day, because it doesn’t seem to matter where you go, as long as you’re around good hydrilla you’re going to catch good fish. The bite has been so good in some of these spots that I’ve had quite a few days […]
