Ahhh the good old consistency of Florida summer bass fishing. For the most part not much has changed from last months fishing report to this months. Except for one key factor. The big fish bite. Because the FWC has halted the use of chemicals to kill off unwanted grass the lake as a whole is in a much better state than it has been in a long time. Healthy grass can be seen all over the lake and even healthier bass are being caught. This November here on Orlando Florida’s Lake Toho it’s been all about the numbers, numbers, numbers. We’re averaging around 20 bass per day with some day’s up over 30 on our fishing guide trips! The action has been non-stop throughout the morning. We are on large groups of fish that are feeding heavily on bait fish. These are all healthy fish in the 2-3 pound range too! The day’s are getting cooler and as always at this time of year the FWC (Florida Wildlife Commision) has begun to spray and kill off the hydrilla in Lake Toho. The Summer fishing on Lake Toho this year has possibly been the best ever! With more numbers of fish and more big fish being caught than what seems like ever before. This is due to the lower than average water temperatures that we’ve been experiencing. Especially compared to last year where water temperatures were hitting the mid 90’s daily. The bass fishing on Lake Toho here in Central Florida this summer has been as good as it ever gets. The State of Florida and Corps of Engineers has lowered the lake levels this summer an extra foot further than they usually do for summer pool levels. In total the lake is three and a half feet down from it’s winter time pool level. These low water levels in the lake have forced the bass out of the maidencane grass fields into open areas of the lake and on the edges of the grass. This has caused the fish to […]
